Why can I not play back my MKV file in DivX Player?

The new DivX 7 player allows for the playback of certain MKV files using the DivX Player.

DivX Player 7 supports MKV files that use AVC/H.264 video and AAC audio. If your file does not play back, or if you get an error message stating that you do not have the correct direct show filter, then it likely does not use a supported codec. If youid like to see what type of video and audio codecs are being used by your MKV file, then you can go visit this FAQ.

If your MKV file has an unsupported audio codec (such as Vorbis audio), then you can learn how to convert your audio into a supported format by visiting this FAQ.
