Grove is a place to share with friends, savor memories, and connect with people everywhere. In order to ensure it’s a safe and fun environment for all users, as well as a place where people can form communities based on their interests, we’ve established these community guidelines. These guidelines must be followed along with the Grove Terms of Service.
We believe in open communication and sharing, however we also believe that in order to make Grove a valuable place to be, everyone must show respect and follow the guidelines below. We use automated software and user reporting to help monitor the use of the app.
All users must adhere to these rules in order to keep Grove a safe place for everyone. If you have been found to act contrary to our community guidelines, action may be taken against you including, but not limited to, suspension or termination of your account.
1. Show mutual respect
In simple terms – let’s all agree to be kind and make Grove a great place to be. Grove encourages the sharing of photos and videos that are important to you. If you come across content that does not align with your own beliefs, please respect one another and do not make personal attacks on people or leave malicious comments. We do not condone cyberbullying in any form and want to ensure that Grove is an abuse-free environment. If someone crosses the line and violates the rules we’re discussing here, please report the offense so we can deal with it appropriately.
2. No adult content
Grove is a place for communities, friends, family and more to share memories and connect. As a result, do not post any photos or videos of mature or explicit content including:
- Nudity and/or sexual activity
- Gore and/or violence
- Explicit sexual descriptions
- Content that you would not personally view in public
Additionally, any content that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers children will be removed and may be submitted to appropriate agencies and law enforcement. We take child safety extremely seriously.
3. No discriminatory/hateful messages
We absolutely do not tolerate any forms of discriminatory messages or hate speech. We want to build an inclusive community. Please do not post or share any content that contains or instigates any forms of discrimination towards people based on their race, ethnicity, nationality, disability, religious beliefs, age, sex, gender, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
4. No harmful content
We encourage healthy forms of self-expression, so please do not post or share any videos that promote or encourage any dangerous acts. Additionally, do not send anyone any death threats, or threaten their safety or wellbeing at any point in time.
5. No illegal activities
We do not condone any forms of content promoting or glorifying illegal activities, such as terrorism, illegal drug use, or criminal activity. Videos with such content will be removed and dealt with accordingly. Keep things simple: do not post or share illegal activities.
6. No spam
We want our community of users to interact in a meaningful way. To keep the community thriving, no spamming in the comments section or elsewhere will be tolerated. Additionally, do not post deceptively synthetic or manipulated media that is likely to cause harm. We created Grove to be a welcoming place for users to share experiences and create authentic connections. As such, we remove content that violates our Community Guidelines and suspend or ban accounts involved in severe or repeated violations.
7. No misleading information or impersonation
It’s not okay to post misinformation meant to incite fear, hate, or prejudice or may cause harm to an individual. Additionally, your profile should be an accurate representation of yourself. Celebrate who you are and don’t pretend to be someone else. Posting content related to scams, phishing attempts, or content that misleads community members will not be tolerated.
8. Only share pictures and videos that you’ve taken or have the right to share
You own the content you post on Grove. Don’t post anything that you’ve copied or collected from the Internet that you don’t have the right to post. Respect the intellectual property rights of others.
9. Privacy
Do not post other people’s private information, such as their phone number or address, without their express authorization and permission. Similarly, do not threaten to expose private information or incentivize others to do so. Do not post or share intimate photos or videos of someone that were produced or distributed without their consent.
10. Third-party advertising in video content
Do not post any pictures or videos that include third-party advertising, such as pre-roll video ads or sponsorship graphics, without our prior consent.
11. Reporting violations and blocking users
It is important to us that we cultivate a community that is willing to speak up both for themselves and others. If you happen to come across content, abuse, or other actions in violation of our guidelines, do let us know by using the report tools in the app. We have a team who will look into it and take the necessary steps to resolve the issue. Here’s how:
Videos and photos:
- Tap the player window to display the playback controls
- Tap the “more” icon with the three dots
- Tap “Report this clip”
- Select the category and submit the report
User accounts:
- Tap the username or avatar of the user to go to their profile page
- From their profile page, tap the “more” icon with the three dots
- Select “Block and/or Report”
- Complete any additional information and submit
Chat messages and comments:
- Double-tap the offending message
- Tap “Report Message” or “Report Comment”
- Select the category and submit the report
Other concerns and appeals:

- Include reported username or reported room name and username of the owner
- Include a description of your concern or appeal along with screenshots, if applicable
