LAS VEGAS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Jan. 5, 2005–CyberLink, a world leader in digital video and audio solutions, and DivXNetworks, Inc., the company that created the revolutionary, patent-pending DivX(R) video compression technology, today announced that they are working together to create multimedia software solutions that will enable consumers to easily access digital media from networked devices throughout the home. Applications formerly available only on PCs will be extended into the living room, including premium content services, personal information services and interactive gaming.

DivX Connected Certification Program, a comprehensive technology initiative that will bring together integrated circuit (IC) manufacturers, consumer electronics (CE) original equipment manufacturers, independent software vendors and online service providers to create interoperable products and services. CyberLink’s line of multimedia products will be the first software solutions to support the program.

CyberLink, a key DivXNetworks Connected partner, has integrated DivX Connected technology into the popular PowerCinema software product, enabling their users to extend their media experience from their PCs to a variety of low-cost DivX Certified Connected devices. By using CyberLink software to serve media to DivX Certified Connected devices, consumers will be able to easily manage, play and share digital media content throughout the connected home. Prototype demonstrations of the joint CyberLink/DivXNetworks solution are available by invitation at the DivXNetworks meeting room at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

“CyberLink is on the cutting edge of multimedia software technology, and we are grateful for the strong, early development and product support they have shown for the DivX Connected Program,” said Jordan Greenhall, Founder and CEO of DivXNetworks. “In the future, consumers will be able to use CyberLink software on a PC in one room, and enjoy their media library or browse and obtain new premium digital content from an online service using their TVs in other rooms.”

“The DivX Connected Certification Program offers a comprehensive vision for the future of entertainment that is aligned with our own product strategy,” said Alice Chang, CEO of CyberLink. “We are pleased to work closely with the DivXNetworks team to create software solutions that will let users easily and seamlessly manage all the digital content in their lives.”

DivX Connected Certified products and services will carry a special DivX logo identifying their interoperability among software, devices and services from a variety of vendors to ensure consumers a seamless experience, whether listening to their digital music library or getting new movies from premium content providers. The first DivX Connected products are expected to hit the market in the second half of 2005. More information is available at: www.divxnetworks.com/solutions/connected.
