Opens Offices in Latin America and Canada to Meet Growing Demand for DivX Certified Devices

SAN DIEGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Nov. 28, 2005–DivX, Inc., the digital entertainment company that created the popular DivX media format, today announced an international expansion to help drive opportunities in two of the fastest growing markets for DivX Certified consumer electronics, Latin America and Canada.

DivX is a digital media format that enables consumers to create, share and playback high-quality video content across a range of devices and platforms. More than 50 million DivX Certified chips have shipped, powering a range of consumer electronics devices from the world’s leading brands.

The company recently announced a number of consumer electronics partnerships in Brazil and Latin America and has seen consistent demand in the Canadian market, with LG Canada recently announcing an entire line of DivX Certified devices for 2005.

DivX has a strong international presence with offices throughout Asia and Western Europe and plans to focus on emerging retail markets in 2006. As part of the new expansion, Roberto Silva joins the company as Sales Manager for Latin America, while Susan Fraser will assume the same role for DivX in Canada. Mr. Silva and Ms. Fraser will join the DivX sales team, led by Hyder Rabbani, Senior Vice President for Worldwide Sales.
