Film Fresh Offers High-Quality Independent and Foreign Films in DivX Format; Compatible with Millions of Consumer Electronics Devices

SAN DIEGO & LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–DivX, Inc. (NASDAQ:DIVX) and Film Fresh today announced a partnership to offer an online video-on-demand service on FilmFresh.com. The new service allows users to rent or purchase films in the high-quality DivX® media format and view that content on any of the millions of DivX Certified consumer electronics devices from major manufacturers.
Film Fresh was created to foster the distribution of great works of global cinema, including smaller U.S.-based independent films often overlooked by major studios. With a large international DVD collection for sale, along with a number of tools for community interaction, the Film Fresh website gives users the opportunity to discover interesting content, and now also expands viewing flexibility by providing the option to rent or buy films in DivX.

“Partnering with DivX gives Film Fresh customers instant access to exceptional content from around the world, formatted in the DivX media format for faster download and high quality,” said Rick Bolton, Founder of Film Fresh. “We’re particularly excited that DivX allows users to transfer the films they download to DivX-enabled DVD players, personal media players, mobile phones, in-car players and other media devices.”

“We’re thrilled to work with Film Fresh to increase exposure to innovative international films valued by audiences who share our passion for meaningful content,” said Darrius Thompson, Co-Founder, Senior Vice President of Strategy and New Business at DivX, Inc. “The alignment of vision for providing the tools to access great works of cinema will impact the transformation of content, leading to a better media future that is open, connected and pure digital.”

Users can take DivX content from the PC for playback on one of 90 million DivX Certified consumer electronics devices from leading brands worldwide. Products that bear the DivX Certified logo have undergone a rigorous testing program to ensure a high-quality DivX media experience, including reliable video creation and playback, interoperability with other DivX Certified devices and the visual quality users expect from DivX.

About DivX, Inc.

DivX creates products and services designed to improve the experience of media. We have since built on the success of our codec with other consumer software, including the DivX Player application, which is distributed from our website, www.divx.com. We also license our technologies to consumer hardware device manufacturers and certify their products to ensure the interoperable support of DivX-encoded content. In addition to technology licensing to consumer hardware device manufacturers, we currently generate revenue from software licensing, advertising and content distribution.
