Includes First DivX Player for Mac, Enabling Full-Screen Cinematic Experience

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – May 24, 2006 – DivX, Inc. today announced the release of DivX for Mac 6.5. The next version of DivX software for the Macintosh platform is available for download at www.divx.com.
The new version includes the first release of an official DivX for Mac player, which provides Mac users with free full-screen playback of high-quality DivX videos on a desktop or through a browser. The new player offers a number of elegant, easy-to use features that improve the viewing experience, including a desktop dimmer, mouse gesture controls, window fade-out and more. Unlike other Mac video solutions, DivX for Mac 6.5 can also easily convert movies into DivX format for playback on over 35 million DivX Certified DVD players, portable media players and other devices available from global retailers. The DivX Converter also outputs video files and the necessary html code to embed those movies into websites for use with the DivX Web Player.

“Our DivX for Mac team has done a great job on this release,” said Darrius Thompson, Co-founder and CXO, Community and Internet, of DivX, Inc. “The new player is elegant and very easy to use, while at the same time offering the kind of high-quality, cinematic experience that Mac users expect from video products. And the DivX Converter for Mac makes it very easy for anyone to create a high quality DivX file that can be played back on millions of DVD players and portable devices from wide variety of brands, rather than limiting playback to a computer or one kind of portable device.”

DivX for Mac 6.5 includes the DivX Converter for Mac, a lightweight, drag-and-drop application that enables users to create high-quality DivX videos from a variety of sources in one easy step. The release also includes the DivX 6 codec for Mac, a Quicktime plug-in that lets Mac users easily playback and export to DivX video from any Quicktime-based application.

DivX for Mac 6.5 is compatible with Quicktime 7 and Mac OS X 10.3.9. The full version of DivX for Mac 6.5 is available for download on DivX.com for $19.99 USD. There is also a free trial version available that includes a 15-day trial of the DivX Converter and a 6-month trial of DivX Codec for Mac with Pro features. The ability to play back DivX videos does not expire at any time. To download DivX for Mac 6.5, visit www.divx.com/divx/mac .

About DivX

DivX creates products and services designed to improve the experience of media. Our first product offering was a video compression-decompression software library, or codec, which has been actively sought out and downloaded over 180 million times in the last four years, including over 50 million times during the last twelve months. We have since built on the success of our codec with other consumer software, including the DivX Player application. We distribute this software from our website, DivX.com, which averaged over five million unique visitors per month during the first quarter of 2006. We also license our technologies to consumer hardware device manufacturers and certify their products to ensure the interoperable support of DivX-encoded content. Over 35 million DivX Certified hardware devices have been shipped worldwide, including approximately 8.5 million devices reported to us by our customers during the fourth quarter of 2005. In addition to technology licensing to consumer hardware device manufacturers, we currently generate revenue from software licensing, advertising and content distribution.
