muvee autoProducer Enables Anyone to Quickly and Easily Create Professional-looking, Highly Compressed Video Productions in Industry Standard DivX Video Format

San Diego, CA and Singapore— May 11, 2004—DivXNetworks, Inc., the company that created the revolutionary, patent-pending DivX® video compression technology, and muvee Technologies, the pioneer in automated video production, today announced a technology licensing agreement to include the DivX video encoder in muvee’s popular autoProducer video production software, enabling muvee users to quickly and easily create high-quality,highly compressed DivX videos for Web and e-mail distribution. muvee autoProducer with DivX support will be available in major retail stores, as well as bundled with several major OEM offerings.

The award-winning muvee autoProducer is designed to allow even the most novice users to easily and automatically transform home videos— or any other video source — into slick, professional-looking multimedia productions. Users simply provide the video clips and/or photos, add in their favorite music, pick one of the many available production styles, and muvee does the rest. muvee products are bundled globally with major original equipment manufacturers including Hewlett-Packard, ATI and Sony, and are available in retail stores across Europe, Japan and soon in the USA.

The DivX codec is a professional-quality video compression / decompression tool that creates video at sizes 10 times smaller than MPEG-2 compression. By saving their muvee productions in a DivX format, users will be able to effortlessly go from shooting to sharing their best video moments over the Internet and via e-mail.

“muvee Technologies is the pioneer and leader in automatic video production software and we’re very pleased that muvee’s products will now integrate DivX technology,” said Chester Ng, Senior Manager of Sales & Business Development, Software Licensing for DivXNetworks. “muvee’s technology enables users to quickly and easily transform dull videos into compelling personal home movies. Now, with support for the DivX standard, muvee’s users will be able to play back their productions on a wide range of devices.”

“Our award-winning muvee autoProducer is the fastest, most intelligent and most fun way for consumers to make compelling productions out of their home video and photos.” said Terence Swee, founder and Chief Opportunities Officer of muvee Technologies. “By incorporating the popular DivX video codec in muvee autoProducer, we bring muvee-making to a huge community of DivX users and the exploding MPEG4-digital video camera market, hence enabling everyone to move seamlessly from shooting to showing.”
