Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia

The mission of Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia is to celebrate short films as a fertile arena for new cinematic talent and to raise public awareness of the format as powerful entertainment in and of itself, not merely an appetizer before the feature. Filmmaking began with short films, and many world-renowned filmmakers, from George Lucas and Martin Scorsese to Jane Campion and Pedro Almodóvar, began their careers making short films. The festival reaches audiences of 20,000 and awards 4,000,000 yen in prizes to winning filmmakers annually. As with the first motion pictures ever created, the short film medium continues to foster innovation, creativity, and expression. Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia nurtures an environment where new talents can exchange ideas and share their work with the public.

Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia will celebrate its 10th Anniversary in 2008.
