DÜSSELDORF, Germany and SAN DIEGO, Calif.– September 2, 2005–TransTechnology, Europe, a leading consumer electronics manufacturer, and DivX, Inc., the company that created the patent-pending DivX® video compression technology, today announced the official DivX certification of the TransTechnology DVX-500E and the DVX-700 Series of DVD players. The TransTechnology media players bring a new dimension to DivX set-top products by incorporating high speed wireless internet, USB 2.0 and removable hard drive storage. As DivX Certified Home Theater devices, the TransTechnology media players will support playback of all versions of DivX video, including secure video-on-demand content from DivX’s content partners. DivX, Inc. launched its DivX Certification program for consumer electronics devices to support the significant global demand for DivX powered consumer electronics products. To achieve DivX Certified status, a device must undergo a rigorous series of tests to ensure high performance, strong visual quality and interoperability with all versions of DivX video (DivX 3.xx, 4.xx, 5.xx and 6.xx).
