Ubicom to Provide Network Processing Solution for DivX ConnectedTM Consumer Electronics Devices

LAS VEGAS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–DivX, Inc. (NASDAQ:DIVX) and Ubicom®, Inc., a leading provider of communications processor and software solutions, today announced an agreement that will enable Ubicom processors to power future DivX ConnectedTM network media playback devices. The two companies will demonstrate DivX Connected functionality on the Ubicom StreamEngine 5000TM processor at the DivX booth at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Adding the Ubicom processor to DivX® decoding platforms will provide an affordable and flexible solution to consumer electronic manufacturers producing DivX Connected products. DivX Connected is a powerful, easy-to-use open platform that brings a high-quality digital media experience to the living room, allowing consumers to access media content and services from the PC and Internet through a range of networked consumer electronics devices. The first DivX Connected device is currently available in the UK, France, and Germany and will be released in the US later this year.
